    Not Closing This Site...EVER!!

Are you LnF for life?  I am!  Well, technically I was once lost but now I'm found.  Anywho, I'm blogging one last time to let you know that I plan on keeping this Lost-n-Found website up and running until the cows come home...or until microsoft bans it.  Come back and check out old pictures, videos, lessons, or whatever you like.  It will be here.
Please know that Cindy and I miss you.  We were so blessed to be a part of your precious lives.
May the Lord add His blessings to your journey!

    Back to School now

Heya friends.  Your new season has begun!  For some, you are back at Yokota starting your new/old routine; for the rest of us, you are mostly settled into your new location starting a new routine.  No matter where you are, I encourage you to take just a moment now and pray for each other.  We can all sure use it!
We love and miss you all!

    In our new home

Hey there Lost-n-Founders!  It has now been one month since we left Yokota for Olympia, Wa.  If you haven't heard, Cindy and I found a nice little place to rent, have been spending quality time with our families, and simply enjoying the trees of the great northwest.  This is just what the doctor ordered!  However, we do miss being you and watching you grow.  Lost-n-Found holds a dear place in our hearts.  We pray for you and long to see you again someday.
The pictures below show our new home, our crate arriving from Japan, and a little guest who came to visit.

    Sayonara, LnF

We have totally loved being with you Lost-n-Founders.  It is our prayer that each of you grow closer to and deeper with Jesus.  Etch our motto in your hearts and live it out to the fullest.  Thank you for the privilege it has been to serve you.  We miss you already.

Two quick things: 1. look us up on FB; 2. check out the songs we sang and recorded at LnF online.

We'll check back in a while and post an update, but until then:

follow Jesus and help others follow Jesus!

Okutama 08 - Close to Jesus

Wow, what an awesome retreat we had, huh?  Cindy and I were sooo blessed to have had that great experience with you at Okutama Bible Chalet.

So how did God work in your life?  What did He show you about Jesus, about yourself, about what you need to do?  Do you remember Sunday morning when we talked about the lost sheep, lost coin, and lost son?  Each one were found and there was MUCH rejoicing!  Remember what we learned from the prodigal son about what repentance is: it's coming to your senses, turning from your sin towards God, and confessing to Him with humility.

Jesus wants to be close to you.  Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.  He knows your every need, all your desires, your future and your past.  Trust Him.  Be close to Him.  Let Him be your best friend!

    Sianora to JnC

Thank you for a great Lost-n-Found this last Tuesday.  We don't want to say goodbye to you all, but we know we have to move.  Please know that we love you and have really, really enjoyed our time with you.  Lost-n-Found has been very special to us and we will hold you dear in our hearts.
We will keep you posted on here as we transition out of Yokota around early June.
Thank you for your love, support, and prayers!

    A New Year's Wussup

    Hey all.
We hope your Christmas was sweet and your New Years was fun.  We missed you while we were gone at our conference in Europe, but we are glad to be back now.  Please give some props to our volunteers and junior staff.  Next time you see them, pass on your thanks for running Lost-n-Found for us while we were gone.

Gear up for the BIG Overnighter where we will be hosting Yokosuka's chapel junior high 8/9Feb.  Also, if you are in 8th grade, you are invited to join our high schoolers for our annual Purity Banquet where you get the chance to declare your choice for sexual purity among your peers on 2Mar.  After that, our next big event is Okutama over Memorial Day Weekend.  And of course, don't forget we have weekly Lost-n-Found for y'all.  YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Expectations on Jesus

What do you expect Jesus to do for you?
Some of you said things like:
    "To make me happy"
    "To protect me"
    "To lead me"
    "To love me"

Whether we like it or not, we all have certain expectations we put on Jesus.
The challenge is, however, to believe what is true.  What you expect Jesus to be like, to do for you, are those true according to Scripture?  Jesus made Himself known and orchestrated what was said about Him in Scripture.  If we believe something about Jesus that is not true in Scripture, then we have false beliefs.
Because what happens when you're not happy?  Is that Jesus' fault?  What if you don't feel loved?  Is that Jesus' fault?
Make sure what you believe is true!  Make sure it's the REAL JESUS you know and not a Jesus you are making up!

We read in Mark 4 where the Disciples were freaking out, thinking they would drown.  They expected Jesus to "care", yet He was sound asleep.  I'm sure you can relate...experiencing crazy times where you felt God was not there or didn't care.
Jesus is there.  He does care.  But He will also let you experience things that you may not understand or like...only to grow you.
    Jesus loves you!

    Lake Yamanaka 07

What a great retreat God gave us, huh?  He blessed us tremendously!  It is our prayer that you continue on that narrow road God is calling you to.  Let me reiterate from Matthew 7: Jesus says, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."
    Counter Culture
means Christians are to follow Jesus & His teachings instead of the World and its ways.
Remember we are in the world but to not be of it.

We observed how Evan Baxter tried to be like the world, but when God called him he had to choose which path to take.  There is much struggle yet much reward in choosing Christ over what the world offers.
May the culture you choose to represent is one that honors Jesus.
follow Jesus and help others follow Jesus!

    No More YouTube

We removed our Youth Group videos from YouTube.  We made this decision b/c of the immoral videos/pictures that YouTube makes available.  Too tempting.

You can now find our "Yokota PYOC" videos on Godtube.

    The Word

    • I hate being lost.  But doesn't it feel so much better when you know that you might be moving in the right direction?  Ahh, that is what a compass is for!

    • Imagine you had to have surgery...wouldn't you want someone to handle you with care and use the right equipment?  Like a surgical knife as opposed to hack-saw.

    • Don't you just feel sooo good while you eat a great meal?  Just think what it would be like to finally eat after starving for days!

Do you recall what each of these sets of questions relate to?
    GOD'S WORD

The Bible is our compass for life.  God's Word is like a surgical knife that can cut out sin.  The Word we read in the Bible is eating spiritual food.

We cannot live without God's Word

...yet we sometimes act like we don't need it

    ...hmm, that should change!

Here are the Scriptures we focused on the last 3 weeks - 2 Timothy 3 - Hebrews 4 - Matthew 4

    SitP Canceled on 14 July

Sorry, but because of the Typhoon warning, we are canceling Saturday in the Park today (the 14th).
Don't forget we still have CSP (Community Serving Project) next Wednesday (18th) and Homeless ministry next Friday (20th).
If there is any TCOR warnings (1 thru 3), then we will cancel.

    Destination: Youth Room

    We've discussed "the Journey"
We are discovering Joseph's "Destination Unknown"
Now we delight together in our own destination, our very own youth room!
Join us at Lost-n-Found each Tuesday as we play, sing, learn, and grow together in our new room in Building 4.
We will be renovating this room for a few months, making it our own, so be patient as it develops into the new PYOC Youth Room.
Guess what?  We can eat food in this room...so bring some snacks to share!!
    See you there!

    the Journey

Our friend Dougie Wougie has been introducing the Journey to us at Lost-n-Found.  He started by following Saul and taking us to Paul in the book of Acts.  What can we learn from Saul/Paul?  Can we identify with his change, his passion, his Lord?  Join us these next couple weeks as Doug takes us on Paul's Journey.

On another note we will be moving from Wednesday evenings to Tuesday evenings starting the first week in July.  Same place (the Wedge), same time (6:30-8:30p).  Hook up with us this summer as we take on some ventures...check out the "news" section for updates!

    God's Word

So why do you think we've been going over God's Word the way we have been lately? You've been getting into small groups to prepare your performance of certain Scriptures. The main reason is so you will hide God's Word in your heart. This has been a creative way to memorize it and think about each word. You all have done a great job at acting out those very important Words. We hope you have fun with it, but also please take it seriously as God's Word is the MOST IMPORTANT WORD in your life!

Here are the Scriptures you chose from to perform:
    Hebrews 4:12 - 2Timothy 3:16-17 - Colossians 3:16 - John 3:16 - Romans 6:23 - Romans 8:28 - James 4:8 - 1Peter 4:14 - 1John 2:17 - 1John 4:10 - John 4:24 - Luke 16:15 - James 2:10 - Hebrews 9:28 - Hebrews 4:13 - Romans 12:1 - Proverbs 3:5-6 - Proverbs 4:23 - Matthew 6:33

If you want a little homework, you can read the longest chapter in the Bible: Psalm 119.

    No Youth Group?!?!?

April 25th, there was no YG (see below).  We are back on (unless the YWES have plans that bump us).  See you soon!

    We are bummed!
Just moments ago I discovered that the West Elementary Gym is having a book fair or science fair or something this evening.
So, we are all just going to have to wait for a great and exciting Lost-n-Found next week (May 2nd).
If you want an assignment, read John 1-3 tonight.
    With love from above,
    Jason and Cindy

    Special Concert!

Lost-n-Found thanks Darin Roberts for sharing with us recently!  May we remember that we have gifts from God and that we need to use them for God.
What if Michael Jordan used his popularity to glorify God rather than endorse his own shoes?  His fans just might look to God rather than thinking "Jordans" will help them.
